Title IX Investigator

Receive and investigate complaints of gender-related violence sexual misconduct sexual harassment protected class discrimination and harassment and related retaliation. Conduct prompt thorough equitable and impartial administrative investigation into complaints which include identifying and interviewing the complainant(s) and respondent(s) gather and assess information relevant to the investigation and appropriately apply relevant University policies to determine findings of fact in individual cases. Remain abreast of current state and federal law and regulations and trends in the field of higher education as they relate to Title IX Clery Act FERPA VAWA and the Office of Civil Rights. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and remain professional at all times. Assist in providing education training and outreach programming related to Title IX and the University s discrimination harassment and sexual misconduct policies. Participate in a monthly Title IX meeting and training sessions on topics covering Title IX or closely related topics. Must also maintain awareness of internal and external resources available to the campus community. Ability to collaborate with on campus and local resources (e.g. law enforcement victim services EEO residential life) to ensure compliance with Title IX policy and procedures and federal and state laws and regulations related to nondiscrimination laws. Assist in the preparation of an annual report. Other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and or the Vice President for Institutional Diversity. Travel may be required to attend Professional Conferences and other OSU Campuses. Occasional out of state travel may be required. Some learning sessions and investigations may take place in evenings to accommodate employee schedules. Required qualifications Bachelor s degree in Higher Education Counseling Psychology Criminal Justice or Related Field. Two years of professional experience conducting investigations. Preferred qualifications Master s degree in Higher Education Counseling Psychology Criminal Justice or Related Field. Five years of experience conducting civil rights or student conduct investigations in the education arena. Knowledge and understanding of the complexities surrounding investigations in a college setting. Title IX Investigator training certification. Knowledgeable in the current state and federal law and regulations and trends in the field of higher education as they relate to Title IX Clery Act FERPA VAWA and the Office of Civil Rights.
