If regular work and real benefits sounds appealing check out this opportunity A to Z Home Remodeling Company has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Carpenter to join our growing team The Lead Carpenter is responsible for performing hands on carpentry work throughout the construction process as well as overseeing carpentry projects and working with Sub Contractors and inspection agencies as needed. The Lead Carpenter reports to the Project Specialist. Qualified candidates will have at least 5 years of professional carpentry experience and previous experience overseeing jobs and leading a team. Valid driver s license and ability to meet our driving insurance standards is required. Primary Job Responsibilities In the field Conduct finish carpenter activities on assigned jobs Safely and effectively execute residential demolition work Work with blueprints or instructions from supervisors Work with various materials including wood plastic fiberglass drywall and concrete Ensure various framing fixtures door frames and other self performed work is installed level plumb square and secure Build and install other finishes specified in a new home or remodel Replace repair and install siding glazing ceiling tile doors millwork cabinetry and wood rail systems Install partitions doors and windows Move and install various residential appliances Implement proper site masking and cleaning Execute final punch out list at substantial completion and turn over stages Supervisory Actively and effectively direct activities of carpenters on jobs Effectively schedule and anticipate staffing needs to ensure timely completion of projects Act as primary contact for clients. Troubleshoot client concerns and ensure client satisfaction Subcontractors Work with sub contractors and provide on site job orientation work review and critique to ensure quality control Complete work associated with the Sub Contractor s work as directed. Discuss scope of the Sub Contractor s work with the Manager so as not to do their work Additional Responsibilities Administrative Maintain a clear and direct line of communication with the Project Specialist Process warranty work orders as assigned and follow the work order systems of notification and completion Complete accurate summaries of current carpentry projects Safety Conduct all work activities in a safe and effective manner. Ensure all safety regulations are met at all times and comply with OSHA safety standards. Attend weekly safety meetings Other Operate within an office environment as necessary Resolve any conflicts in a manner that is win win for all parties Maintain the Powell Client experience by keeping a positive attitude and professional conduct at all times Establish and maintain cooperative work relationships with other employees suppliers and inspectors Demonstrate open honest and timely communication Additional duties as assigned by the Project Specialist JOB REQUIREMENTS Lead Carpenter Required Skills and Abilities Employee should have the ability to express or complete the following Ability to perform and complete a wide range of residential carpentry tasks Ability to accurately estimate labor needs Ability to read plans specifications and change orders Ability to stay organized at all time relating to both equipment and time task management Ability to perform within a team oriented organizational structure Ability to actively and effectively lead a team Employee should have the following communication and professional skills The ability to accept and provide constructive feedback from supervisors co workers clients and other business partners Excellent conflict resolution and communication skills.
