Research Associate in Construction Materials

Primary assignment will be research and work in advanced construction materials. Conduct research on concrete aggregates cements and other materials of interest as assigned by the Dr. Ley. The position is expected to develop independent research programs and could serve as principal investigator on proposals to external agencies. Incumbent is expected to develop to become engaged in academic and scholarly activities including but limited to performing collaborative research with academic faculty supervising undergraduate or graduate research serving on departmental or college committees and organizing attending and presenting at professional conference and seminars. The primary assignment will be research. Instructional activities will be limited to offerings specific to research expertise and supervision of graduate students as provided for by membership in the Graduate Faculty. The successful candidate will be expected assist in developing a nationally recognized extramurally-supported research program collaborate with other research investigators. Appointment of Research Associate will be made for (1) year with option for reappointments for a total of five years may be offered. Renewable. Travel may be needed to meet with research sponsors and give presentations at conferences. Will work with students to complete research projects. Required qualifications Ph.D. Ed.D. in Civil Engineering. Four years of professional experience. Extensive experience in testing construction materials making technical presentations and writing technical documents. Shall have management and supervision experience of other students.
