DCFS qualified Site Directors

The Afterschool Club is recognized as the premier provider of quality school age child care. We strive to consistently surpass the expectations of our children and their parents in a safe friendly and fun filled environment. We provide a recreational program with a variety of enrichment activities that meet the needs of our students. We provide a safe and friendly environment for our children to grow and develop. The Afterschool Club services several school districts throught out Lake County Illinois. Shifts for directors are Monday through Friday 6 00 a.m. -10 00 a.m. and 2 00p.m. through 6 00 p.m. The position is school year and runs from mid August through mid June. We run a small summer camp but employemnt for the summer is not guaranteed. Qualified directors manage sites providing care for school age children. Directors are responsible for training and overseeing staff members communucation with parents and adminstration and community outreach. Directors are responsible for following and implementing DCFS licensing standards as well as Afterschool Club policies and procedures. Qualifications for Directors as per the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services are as follows Candidates shall be at least 21 years of age. They will have acheived 60 semester hours of college with 18 semester hours related to school age child care child developement elementary eduation recreation camping or other related fields AND 1 560 working clock hours of child developement experience in a recreation program or licensed day care center serving school age children.
