THE ORGANIZATIONThe Seldin Organization founded in 1923 and based in Omaha Nebraska provides a full spectrum of services for commercial and residential real estate and consists of four affiliated companies including Metonic Real Estate Solutions a real estate investment management company providing acquisition financing asset management and disposition for all types of commercial and multi-family residential real estate. Metonic s Principals have participated in more than 2 billion of real estate transactions through multiple economic cycles. Seldin Company offers management and development services for all types of multi-family residential properties. The company manages nearly 13 000 multi-family units across six states. Universal Service Group (USG) provides building and ground maintenance services for commercial real estate properties in Nebraska and Iowa. World Group Commercial Real Estate offers sales leasing and property management services for commercial real estate in Nebraska and Iowa. The company manages more than 3 million square feet of office retail and industrial space and provides acquisition and disposition brokerage services for all types of commercial and multi-family residential real estate. Seldin Organization is currently seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO). THE POSITION The CEO is responsible and accountable for the overall operations and management of the Seldin Organization. This role is looked upon to lead the organization s overall strategic direction and priorities and monitor the performance of all companies under the Seldin Organization umbrella. Essential Functions Provide the required association between the Board of Directors and the Executive Management Team and provide them with adequate information to carry out their responsibilities Act in the capacity of rainmaker for the organization Provide advice guidance direction and authorization to the Executive Management Team to carry out plans and procedures Oversee the following roles as direct reports President of Seldin Company President of Metonic Real Estate Solutions LLC President of New World Group LLC New Universal Service Group LLC Senior Vice President of Human Resources Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel Assist the Board of Directors in setting strategic goals objectives policies and procedures Conduct a strategic review of performance on a regular basis to determine whether the organization is meeting its short-and long-term objectives Work with direct reports to develop high-level goals objectives and plans and work with them on attaining such goals by closely monitoring their operations. Review the operating results of the organization & compare them to established objectives and goals and follow-up to ensure appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results. Establish and maintain an effective system of communications throughout the organization to ensure that the responsibilities authorities and accountabilities of all executives are clearly defined and understood. Periodically review and check the performance of the Executive Management Team and recommend remedial action and improvements. Promote the organization direction its business performance and image Ensure development of an effective organizational structure and the promotion of a positive culture in which management development for succession is encouraged. Delegate responsibilities to appropriate executives in order to ensure efficiency with the organization s operations. Conduct annual performance reviews for all direct reports and recommend salary adjustments and promotions. Recruit develop manage and motivate executives. Ensure proper and adequate operating permits and licenses are in place. Work closely with the Seldin Silverman families to maximize investment returns from the family investments. Coordinate and work with the leaders of the family Trusts. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education Licenses or Certificates Required Bachelor s degree Business Administration (MBA is preferred) or equivalent experience with a minimum of ten (10) years of related experience. Nebraska and Iowa Real Estate Broker s license or ability to obtain within one (1) year Communication Skills Required Excellent verbal communication skills organization skills attention to detail with high degree of accuracy ability to work independently and exercise judgment are essential. Experience Required Extensive executive-level management experience (10 years) Extensive Real Estate Industry Asset Management experience (5 years) 5-10 years Commercial Brokerage experience required. Knowledge of financial analysis and accounting software reporting systems for both residential and commercial property management. Skills Strong visionary with proven leadership qualities Political awareness professional expertise financial orientation organization astuteness and team spirit. Ability to select develop and motivate necessary management talent to maintain the organization s overall objectives. Strong interpersonal skills such as leadership communication persuasion motivation loyalty and candidness. Must be a professional of unquestionable integrity credibility and character.
