Location Mississauga ON Duration 4 Months contract with high possibility of extension Must haves Distributed Windows FileNet experience (VERY IMPORTANT MUST HAVE) HTML J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition) JAVA Java Web Services Experience Leadership SQL Nice to haves IBM WebSphere Application Server SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) experience Job Description We are seeking a Senior Java Application Developer to work on FileNet web Services. This position will provide analysis design and development for projects enhancements and production support issues based on business requirements provided by our business partners. Responsibilities Developing enterprise Web Services in Java which interact with FileNet using the FileNet API. Having a deep understanding of the core FileNet components. Supporting level 3 production support of the FileNet shared components. Technical leadership in distributed web based services working with multiple development teams. Work closely with Business Partners and other technical support teams to understand requirements ensuring that solutions are sound scalable and positioned for the future Work closely with Solutions Architects Provide cost and timeline estimates and scope assessment through all project phases Lead the technical analysis design sessions and code reviews Hands-on Java application design and potential development Oversight on testing of code thru multiple cycles. Clear and concise documentation of design options and solutions based on specifications from business requirements. Packaging deployment and support of builds as code is promoted from Development System Acceptance & Production environments Ensure delivery of projects to the business partner meet exceed specifications Work closely with infrastructure teams to ensure that development and integration environments are fully functional and that builds are properly deployed Support the QA testing process. Active participation in issue resolution promptly addressing defects in production and test environments. Provide knowledge transfer within the team Ensuring that solutions adhere development best practices and Architectural principles Ensuring that SDLC PMLC processes are followed where appropriate Conduct implementation and post implementation activities ensuring project deliverables are communicated. Identify and implement process improvements to improve quality efficiency and reduce costs REQUIRED SKILLS Extensive experience in distributed systems development using JavaEE Strong knowledge of object oriented analysis and design implementation maintenance and SOA Advanced skills in technologies such as JavaEE UNIX AIX Web Services RAD CVS MKS Perl Scripting or other scripting languages Proven track record developing and delivering solutions for small to medium size projects. Good understanding of development methodologies Proven track record with code deployments Familiar with web banking operations Ability to work effectively in a team oriented environment be self-motivated and a team player Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong technical documentation skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to effectively communicate technical issues to non-technical individuals Experience with SDLC PMLC methodologies Experience with WebSphere Application Server v6.1 v7 Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Enterprise Service Bus (IBM Data Power) are assets.
