Environmental Compliance Program Manager

This position provides professional expertise in the operation of Environmental Health & Safety programs to help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements national consensus standards and OSU safety policies and procedures. Areas of specialization for this person include the ability and expertise to conduct Phase I ESA reports periodic compliance emission reports as well as various permits for ODEQ and ERA. This position ensures program compliance for CFATS reporting for DHS. Position will also assist with Hazcom program compliance including periodic updates as required by state and federal mandates and outreach efforts for the community at large. Responsible for managing environmental compliance programs including ability and expertise to conduct Phase I ESA reports periodic compliance emission reports as well as various permits for ODEQ and EPA. Ensures program compliance for CFATS reporting for DHS. Also assists with Hazcom program compliance including periodic updates as required by state and federal mandates and outreach efforts for the community at large. Position requires travel to conduct inspections and or training sessions on campus and to other OSU system or A& M campuses. Due to communication expectations of the position the incumbent will be required to maintain a cellular or other electronic communication device. The ECP Manager will travel to conduct inspections and or training sessions on campus and to other OSU system or A& M campuses. There may be potential exposure during emergency response to chemical incidents as well as during inspections of laboratory storage areas and properties. May be on emergency call 24 hours-per-day 7 days-per-week. Minimum qualifications Bachelor degree in environmental science engineering or related field and three years experience with administering and managing environmental compliance programs. Ability to communicate well with administrators faculty staff students and others efficiently and effectively and in a professional manner. Ability to analyze complex problems and develop practical cost-effective solutions. Ability to understand and interpret complex state and federal laws and regulations.
