Senior Research Engineer

Serve as an engineering lead and program manager for projects at the Oklahoma State University (OSU) Unmanned Systems Research Institute (USRI). This will include leading engineering teams and managing resources and personnel for a wide range of civilian military and research projects as well as operating as a hands-on engineer designing solutions to project requirements. Engineering duties will include development and integration of ground and aircraft systems as well as flight testing and field operation of novel UAS designs. In addition this position includes support of the business activities of USRI including interfacing with customers budgeting purchasing marketing and proposal development. Involvement with day-to-day operations of USRI will include facilities as well as supervising of undergraduate and graduate students. Required qualifications Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. Three years work related experience flight testing small UAS. Experience with UAS manufacturing design construction and integration. Experience working in multi discipline environment. Excellent proactive problem solving experience. Ability to prioritize work load in a multi-tasking resource constrained work environment Experience estimating cost schedule and risk of small scale development efforts. Experience managing engineering teams. Experience with business development. Experience working in a customer-facing role. Preferred qualifications Master s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. Two years experience in related field. FAA Part 107 License DoD Clearance. Composite aircraft construction techniques.
