Job Duties -Supervise and care for children in employer s residence -Plan prepare and serve meals for children and may perform other housekeeping duties -Oversee children s activities such as meals and rest periods as instructed by employer -Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home -Instruct children in personal hygiene -Tend to the emotional well-being of children and support their social development -Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents -Organize and participate in activities such as games crafts reading and outings -Take children to and from social or other activities and appointments -May be required to keep records of daily activities and health information regarding the children -Observe children and prepare reports for home care or babysitting agency Education and Training Secondary (High) school graduation is required. Personal Suitability - organized initiative effective interpersonal skills flexibility reliability.Language Must be able to speak and write in English. Weight handling - up to 9kg (20lb) Work Setting - Employer s own home. Experience is an asset because demonstrated ability to do the work is usually required. - Option of the caregiver to live at employer s home at no cost to the worker. Live in is not a condition.
