Academic Advisor

Serve as an academic advisor for approximately 125 pre-engineering students admitted to University College Advising pursuing majors in engineering architecture and technology. Assist in providing direction to students regarding academic programs course sequence pre-requisites and degree progress. Teach multiple sections of First Year Seminar. Engage students in thinking about career paths options and assist students in exploring alternative degree programs as needed. Minimum qualifications Bachelor s degree and two years of related experience. Possess a positive attitude good communication skills and a desire to assist students in achieving success. Demonstrate creativity and initiative and be a proactive participant in a team environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Manage confidential information appropriately. Must be service oriented and able to work with a diverse group of faculty staff and students in a positive manner at all times. Preferred qualifications Master s degree and at least two years of advising and teaching experiences showing ability to work effectively to support college student success.
