Dog for family and as a therapy animal

Looking for a free to reasonable price dog so I can have a therapy animal. It would be around my 6yr old and 12 yr old sometimes as I share custody. My 6 yr old absolutly adores dogs and will be its best friend. I love dogs and they help my depression and anxiety and help to get me out of the bed and out of the apartment. I am looking for a small to medium size dog i would like to have a younger dog but not technically a puppy would like one in between 1 and 3 or so yrs old. I prefer one that is very cuddly but can also play with the kids. My favorite types of dogs are beagles cocker spaniels yorkies. please email me at christinekolesik2003(at)yahoo.com...tia
