ACADEMIC COUNSELING - Advises undergraduate students (freshmen through graduation) in the College of Education Health & Aviation both on campus and off-site. Counselor activities include using a holistic advising approach to assist in development of academic and professional goals facilitate course selection and sequencing track progress toward and completion of requirements for graduation. Counselors also maintain ongoing focus on retention efforts through outreach providing appropriate referrals and consultation on academic remediation strategies as a part of the College s retention efforts. RECRUITMENT AND LIAISON TO FACULTY GROUPS BY MAJOR - Represent the College and University to individuals and organizations in support of undergraduate recruitment activities both on and away from campus. Act as liaison to faculty in assigned academic degree programs. As needed serve on College and University Committees. TEACH EDUC 1111 FIRST YEAR SEMINAR - In collaboration with Program Faculty create syllabus arrange for guest speakers present lectures grade assignments and coordinate various activities with other EDUC 1111 instructors. Minimum qualifications Bachelor s degree. Work in academic advising recruitment or related experience. Preferred qualifications Master s Degree. 3-4 years academic advising recruitment or related experience. Knowledge of aviation industry flight operations and FAA airman certification process.
