Reporting to the Human Sciences Director of Personnel the Facilities Manager provides leadership for short and long term planning and day-to-day operations for all facilities within the College and serves as the College s principal representative to Long Range Facilities Planning (LRFP) Facilities Management (FM) Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Custodial Services and other campus units involved in the planning and maintenance of Human Sciences buildings. Working with LRFP and FM personnel the Facilities Manager oversees renovation and construction projects and orders. The Facilities Manager serves as a resource and point of contact for department heads school directors and support staff. Working with the Associate Dean for Research the Facilities Manager provides support for space planning by maintaining a database of space assignments within departments schools and support units. The Facilities Manager also works with EHS staff to ensure that all facilities meet local state and federal health and safety standards. Position is responsible for the oversight and management of the annual facilities and equipment inventory process. Manage space inventory database. Supervise the building keying system and master key records of all keys issued for Human Sciences facilities. Develop review and implement procedures and processes. Will work beyond 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. as schedule and problems dictate. Will be called on evenings and weekends to solve problems. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds set-up of furniture for events may involve moving and lifting furniture. Minimum qualifications Bachelor s Degree in Business or public admin interior design architecture facilities construction mgmt or related. Seven years experience in a position involving facilities management. Must have knowledge of principles and practices pertaining to the planning maintenance and operations of building and other facilities an ability to analyze problems and situations establish priorities and meet deadlines and the capability to work independently. Excellent management skills. Working knowledge related to construction projects and building improvements. Excellent interpersonal and written verbal communications skills.
