AAHA accredited full service animal hospital dedicated to providing compassionate high quality care for your family pet. We are looking for an experienced veterinary technician and or a certified veterinary technician. Applicant must have the ability to communicate medical terminology and details to doctor staff and clients. Bi-lingual would be a plus. Applicant must have a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. Applicant must have reliable transportation must be able to provide driver s license. Also must be able to pass background check and drug testPosition Experience Veterinary Technician or CVT. Must have 3-5 YEARS TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE.Wages Will be determined upon skills.Full Time Part TimeJob Qualifications Applicant must be Energetic personable and people-oriented. Ability to work a flexible work week Saturdays early morning early evening hours Sundays and holidays. Ability to stand comfortably for sustained period of time without physical discomfort. Able to comfortably lift and restrain animals of at least 40 to 50 lbs. without assistance. Ability to lift and transport dead weight items such as animal food and supplies and maintenance of equipment of at least 40 to 50 lbs. without assistance. Able to perform range of motion tasks e.g. reaching stretching bending lifting stooping crouching comfortably. Basic computer skills Ability to work cooperatively as part of a technical team and as part of a larger hospital staff Excellent clinical skills with consistent attention to detail. Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously. Job Requirements The following duties performed may include but not limited to Assistance in handling lifting and restraining of animals during examinations Confident in giving injections inoculations blood drawing radiology procedures IV catheter placement etc. Must know basic phlebotomy. Responsible for all laboratory work performed in the hospital either independently or in cooperation with the veterinarian team. Maintenance of all laboratory equipment. Service contracts to be discussed with the hospital directors. Preparation of all blood and tissue specimens for outside laboratory analysis. Proper documentation and recording all results in patient records. Client education responsibilities as instructed by hospital directors. Post-surgical telephone consultations with all clients. Surgical assistance and maintenance of surgical supplies and equipment. Surgical procedures followed consistently. Able to confidently and accurately monitor for surgical procedures. Post-surgical monitoring of animals. Treatment of all cases per instructions from the doctors. Discharge and Intake of surgical patients assistance to veterinary receptionist team. Overseeing of cleanliness and sanitation of hospital wards runs cages etc. Overseeing of the hospital emergency kits. Also able to perform kennel assistant duties taking care of boarding patients adhering to proper food and medication schedules cleaning etc. Also able to perform veterinary assistant duties as well as other duties assigned.
