As a member of the OSU Agricultural Communications Services unit the Communications Coordinator will facilitate digital media marketing and communications for the Division of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources (DASNR) which includes the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service the Oklahoma Agricultural Experiment Station and the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. The Communications Coordinator will develop implement track and optimize DASNR s social and digital marketing strategies across all digital and social platforms to enhance brand awareness and engagement among multiple audiences affiliated with the organization. The individual must have a strong grasp of strategic communications marketing and engagement techniques as well as lead integrated digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution. This position is responsible for managing relationships within OSU Ag Communications as well as other university communications and marketing partners supporting teams such as web developers and programmers videographers photographers graphic designers and content writers as well as fellow marketing specialists and communicators across DASNR to launch campaigns on time and on budget. Demonstrate a results-oriented approach self-direction creativity and strategic thinking in managing DASNR s presence in the digital realm. Supervise other unit employees and student workers engaging in the production of content to support social media and integrated digital marketing initiatives. Manage the editorial process for current DASNR digital platforms the monitoring and engagement of key audiences and proactively anticipate key audience needs and respond appropriately. Evaluate digital analytics to better optimize social media and a variety of campaigns including digital marketing email and search advertising. Implement new strategies to improve key metrics. This is an exempt position (which indicates that the position is exempt from overtime pay comp or personal time accrual). Regular office hours are 8 00-12 00 and 1 00-5 00 p.m. According to OSU policy a 40-hour workweek is considered minimal for exempt staff and you are expected to work hours in excess of 40 hours per week when the work load requires additional hours (to include some early mornings evenings and or weekends). May require occasional travel within DASNR s field locations. Travel budget provided. Minimum qualifications Bachelor s degree in Communications journalism marketing public relations or related field. Three years of progressive experience in social media digital media campaign management marketing and communications. Valid driver s license. Proficient in social media strategy management and metrics necessary. Proficient in digital marketing (email SEO web) developing campaigns and using social platforms as listening and engagement tools to help organizations achieve objectives. Excellent content creation skills for a variety of audiences. Excellent written verbal communication and technical skills are required. This job requires a high level of internal and external public contact. Experience with video photography and graphic design. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent customer service and organizational skills are essential. Preferred qualifications Master s degree in Communications journalism marketing public relations or related field.
