Perform routine labor and equipment operation to support maintenance and development of University grounds. Routine labor to support other Facilities Management departments. Must be able to perform snow and ice removal tasks and respond at any time of the day or night when scheduled by management therefore deeming you as essential personnel requiring you to come into work regardless of the weather conditions.Will be required to work outdoors during extreme heat and cold high levels of dust operating hazardous equipment hazardous noise levels and handling hazardous odoriferous chemicals. Employee in this position is required to be on rotating standby for emergencies and or any other event after 5 p.m. weekdays weekends and holidays. Employee in this position is required to work overtime after 4 p.m. when work requires. Employee in this position is required to work shift work when work can t be accomplished during regular hours and when the Management staff deems necessary. Overtime is an essential function of this position and may require work during nonbusiness hours which include evenings Saturdays and Sundays. Ability to become proficient in the use of AiM Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software and the use of mobile technology. Must use appropriate personal protective equipment as required (hard hat vest gloves safety glasses etc.). These items are provided and are not for personal use. Required High School GEDOne year of groundskeeping farming and or outdoor construction labor.Have before hire and maintain after hire a valid driver s license. A valid driver s license must be maintained for the operation of an OSU vehicle which is required in the performance of job duties as assigned.
