Manufacturing Job TitlePatient Specific Instruments Operator

Job Summary This position will provide operations support towards the manufacturing of Patient Specific Instruments (PSI). All aspects of the manufacturing process will be handled including the operation of assigned manufacturing equipment such as the Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) machine. This position requires excellent communication skills personal computer (PC) literacy and a proven ability to reliably perform current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP s). Daily responsibilities may include performing various production operations such as blasting mass finishing impingement washing quality inspection and acceptance activities manufacturing cell management per 5S EHS and other facility standards basic maintenance of cell equipment and documentation of performance.Principal Duties and Responsibilities% 65 Safely performs all assigned routed work order operations per detailed procedures and work instructions. This includes completing quality inspection and acceptance activities and documenting work order performance.15 Completes equipment setup tooling change-over and basic daily maintenance requirements on equipment.10 Maintains general cell cleanliness organization and safety needs per predefined 5S facility and EHS standards.5 Communicates daily production work order status to various members of Operations Customer Service Distribution and other Zimmer team members as appropriate.5 Support other operations needs as requested. This may include ordering of supplies inventory reconciliation kaizen events training etc.100 Total Percent (not to exceed 100%) Individual percents should be greater than or equal to 5%.This is not an exhaustive list of duties or functions and may not necessarily comprise all of the essential functions for purposes of the ADA.Expected Areas of Competence (i.e. KSAs) Must be a self-starter with ability to complete tasks with minimal instructions and supervision Must demonstrate good planning skills to organize prioritize and balance workload Must have the ability to make suggestions for improvements on general processes (relating to own work products and department) Excellent communication skills able to convey the complexity of systems used to people of various backgrounds Superior levels of accuracy and good sense of urgency Ability to learn new skills through example and training and train other department team members. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions procedure manuals and engineering drawings prints. Ability to work with mathematical concepts possibly basic geometry and trigonometry Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to use personal computers to enter or retrieve data (basic computers skills are required). Lifting of manufacturing materials and tooling that may reach 50 lbs in weight.Education Experience Requirements Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required along with (2) years of experience in the medical device or equivalent industry Experience with the operation of sophisticated equipment such as additive manufacturing machines (SLS SLA FDM etc.) and quality inspection devices is a plus.
