Instructor of Professional Practice &ndash Costume Design

Oklahoma State University Department of Theatre invites applicants for a career-track costume lab manager and instructor in costume technology beginning August 15 2018. This position is responsible for teaching the TH 1673 Costume Technology course as well as lab practicum courses. The position is also responsible for the oversight of the costume lab budget maintenance and storage of inventories student volunteer and paid lab personnel the implementation of the costume designs for the mainstage season including rentals and purchases training and oversight of student wardrobe crews including strike attendance at production meetings and dress rehearsals and service commitments to the department. The successful candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in theatrical patterning draping a variety of costume construction techniques for both contemporary and period costumes dying stitching and crafts. Individual will be able to effectively convey these skills to the students. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and credentials. Qualifications MFA in costume technology or equivalent and evidence of successful university teaching. Excellent organizational communication and collaborative skills are necessary.
