Machine Shop Manager - Canton OH - Job 17-00513 Salary 70 000 to 80 000 Permanent Position with Benefits Only U.S. Citizens or persons with a Green Card work permit may apply. A well-established Canton area machining fabrication job shop is seeking a manager to assume the role of a retiring associate. This position requires an individual with a well-developed understanding of machining fabrication processes 5 years of supervisory experience and the ability to maintain a positive productive and safe work environment. The duties of this position include direct supervision of all production personnel while overseeing production flow with an emphasis on quality delivery on schedule and safe work practices. Additional responsibilities will include working with company purchasing associates to ensure raw material availability and coordinating the work of both internal team members and outside contractors to bring machinery fabrication projects in on a timely basis. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Associates degree technical school certificate or HS degree plus equivalent experience Well demonstrated understanding of manual CNC machining welding and fabrication processes Supervisory experience in a job shop machining fabrication environment Ability to demonstrate leadership and motivate team members in a positive professional manner In-depth knowledge with the set-up and operation of manual and CNC milling and turning equipment Ability to assess the capability of machining welding and assembly personnel Experience with estimating man hours and maintaining production schedules Some working knowledge of CNC programming Ability to professionally interact with customers vendors and other stakeholders Candidates may be required to submit to a Criminal Background Check and a 10 Panel Drug Screen.
