Duties include wiring mounting configuring programming testing coordinating and training for the security and access control system and integrating the system with existing burglar alarm camera and fire alarm systems. Support Electrical repairs and installation. Perform building security system security camera system and access control system installation maintenance and repairs. 2. Perform General Maintenance and repair to facilities and equipment within the District. 3. Perform system programming and integration with burglar alarm fire alarm and camera systems. 4. Monitor the work of contractors in the design construction and startup phases of security systems. 5. Document system installation using databases spreadsheets word documents and drawings. 6. Perform training on system operation. 7. Coordinate installation with the site staff District security departments and various maintenance and operations trades. 8. Respond to Security Alarm Calls 9. Perform other duties as assigned.10. Snow removal.11. Assist in completing all craft PM and maintenance programs and keep records up to date.12. Hardware repairs.13. Maintain yearly tool inventory.EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent plus vocational school or technical training courses in a related area. Three to five years of progressive experience in a related trade resulting in journeyman level expertise. LICENSES REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS Valid Colorado driver s license. Nicet Level I or Level II certification required within 12 months after hire. Criminal background check required for hire. TECHNICAL SKILLS KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES Oral and written communication skills. English language skills. Critical thinking problem solving and analytical skills. Math skills. Basic understanding of qualitative and quantitative circuit analysis. Knowledge of networked automated electronic systems including knowledge of processor based communication and alarm systems and software. Ability to read blueprints and schematics. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job. Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies Superintendent Policies and building and department procedures. Ability to communicate interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all people including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds. Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace follow safety rules practice safe work habits utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT OPERATING KNOWLEDGE Operating knowledge of hand and power tools analog digital test equipment man lifts Radiofrequency (RF) and Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) testing devices and ladders. Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals. Operating knowledge of and experience with office software. Operating knowledge of and experience with typical office equipment such as telephones copier fax machine E-mail etc.SALARY Security Technicians are a Grade 8 on the Classified Salary Schedule.- FFC8 allows new hires to bring in up to 8 years of previous experience in similar school type settings.- Please understand that new hires tend to start out at the lower end of the salary range.EMPLOYMENT PERIOD 261 days per year - 8 Hour Work Days
