DESCRIPTION The Assistant Plant Manager supports the Plant Manager in leading retread plant associates in the execution of Goodyear Commercial Tire & Service Centers retread systems in order to efficiently and effectively manufacture light and medium truck bus and specialty tires. The Assistant Plant Manager assists the Plant Manager in providing safety quality and production leadership for all plant associates. The Assistant Plant Manager is responsible for all plant operations in the absence of the Plant Manager. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to Overseeing and directing plant floor activities and participating in production. Safely and proficiently operating all machines and performing all functions in the retread plant when required. Assisting in insuring all documentation and production records are completed accurately and properly. Assisting in insuring all equipment and machines in plant are maintained properly Assisting in maintaining production schedules control production and control quality of production. Providing oversight on quality control of finished product. Setting standards and insures compliance to company policies and safety. REQUIREMENTS One year of college and or relevant management experience preferred Associate Degree in related field preferred One year of relevant experience in a retread manufacturing setting. Must possess a mechanical aptitude. Good oral and written communication ability. Good computer skills.
