Salary 34 936 - 61 137 The ChallengeWe re looking for an entry-level Engineering Technician to join our District 1 Permitting team. In this role you will Perform onsite compliance inspections to ensure they meet NCDOT standards for driveway connection construction encroachment construction and subdivision street construction. Monitor illegal use of highway rights-of-way for signs utilities and private activities. Assist with collecting field data for the review of driveway permits site plans utility and non-utility encroachment agreements subdivision plans and road additions abandonments. Meet with utility representatives contractors property owners and others to discuss adherence to policies and procedures answer questions and address complaints from the public by phone written correspondence and in person. Assist during emergencies and severe weather. Assist our District Engineer with tasks. What You BringExperience planning developing scheduling tracking and completing projects independently or with limited supervision. Experience working in a team environment to complete assignments. Experience maintaining standard daily records and reports. Computer skills using laptops iPads and Microsoft Office. Knowledge and understanding of the general concepts practices and theories used in construction construction inspection or construction surveying. Education & ExperienceAssociate s degree in Civil Engineering Technology Survey Technology or a related curriculum or An equivalent combination of training and experience.
