NEW HIGHER SALARY 65 876 - 115 283 The ChallengeWe are looking for a senior Engineer III to join our Environmental Analysis team that supports development of sustainable transportation infrastructure minimizing impacts on the human and natural environment. In this role you will Supervise and manage our Monitoring and Stewardship Group (MSG) in the Environmental Analysis team. The MSG team plans designs constructs monitors and ensures stewardship of NCDOT onsite stream wetland and buffer mitigation sites statewide. Lead the statewide design of NCDOT s onsite stream and wetland sites. Assist NCDOT staff providing post-LET construction assistance for statewide onsite mitigation sites. Coordinate stream and wetland monitoring activities for NCDOT s Onsite Mitigation Monitoring Program. Lead the inspection and long-term management of mitigation sites in NCDOT s Mitigation Stewardship Program. Manage Private Engineering Firm contracts involving scope of work estimates project management tasks scheduling budgets invoicing and evaluations. Coordinate and communicate with State and Federal Environmental Agencies on permit compliance related to NCDOT s Onsite Mitigation Program. What You BringKnowledge of the principles and practices of environmental engineering relating to natural streams wetlands buffer design and monitoring. Knowledge of Federal State laws relating to environmental matters (specifically Compensatory Mitigation) and Federal Highway Administration regulations related to other aspects of highway planning design and construction. Experience managing performance monitoring of Compensatory Mitigation Sites to meet State Federal Permitting Requirements. Experience managing Stewardship of Compensatory Mitigation properties. Experience reading and understanding highway project plans provisions specifications policies procedures regulations and laws relating to Compensatory Mitigation. Management PrefersCandidates with experience with CADD-ORD ArcGIS Pro and Applied Fluvial Geomorphology with regards to Natural Stream Planning and Design. NoteWe may require you to be registered as a professional engineer by the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors. Education and ExperienceBachelor s degree in engineering and 4 years of relevant experience or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
