They ensure that the billing codes accurately reflect the services provided by healthcare professionals and that all charges are correctly entered into the billing system. The duties of a Charge Entry Specialist may also include reviewing and reconciling billing reports monitoring claim denials and rejections and providing support to billing and coding teams to ensure timely reimbursement for healthcare services. A Charge Entry Specialist must have a strong attention to detail knowledge of medical billing and coding regulations and the ability to work independently with little supervision.
