NEW HIGHER PAY 50 466 - 55 385 The ChallengeWe are hiring an Entry-Level Engineering Technician to join our award-winning Henderson county team. In this role you will Work with counties municipalities developers property owners contractors and field support as the permitting technician to establish compliance with engineering standards and guidelines. Review plans for subdivisions utility installations driveway access and roadway improvements. Process permits including driveway utility and non-utility encroachment agreements road additions and abandonments and other records and reports. Interact with local government agencies utility representatives contractors property owners and others to discuss adherence to policies and procedures. Respond to questions and address complaints from the public by phone written correspondence and in person. What You BringExperience maintaining standard daily records and reports. You work best in a team environment to complete assignments. Experience planning developing scheduling tracking and completing projects independently or with limited supervision. Knowledge of standards and specifications and plan reading experience. Knowledge and understanding of general concepts practices and theories used in construction construction inspection and or construction surveying. Ability to establish and maintain positive lines of communication between other technicians engineers contractors and the public. Skills to communicate in a clear concise organized and persuasive manner. Ability to work safely in an outside environment with exposure to hazards on construction sites including heights highway traffic and traversing rough terrain in evaluating highway construction. Strength and agility to perform moderate physical activity including but not limited to walking climbing balancing kneeling standing and to lift 50 pounds. Ability to work nights and weekends when required. Ability to apply safety philosophy and program to all operations. Education & ExperienceAssociate s degree in Civil Engineering Technology Survey Technology or a related curriculum or An equivalent combination of training and experience.
