Also we need to do the will of God not our own will. You will benefit but it s about the other person mostly. There are many more verses similar to these. How do you prepare yourself properly to build up others See the following verses John 17 17 2 Timothy 2 15 3 16 and 17 1 John 1 5-10 (we must confess our sin). Don t partner up with unbelievers. See 2 Corinthians 6 14 Ephesians 5 11 James 4 4. It is not a good mix and they will just bring you down. (Psalm 106 35-41) they want you to stumble However you can be around unbelievers to plant a truth. We are here to hopefully convert the unbeliever if possible . Reprove To convince of a fault or to make it manifest. Is sitting in a church pew for 1 hour each week or eating a pot luck dinner in the fellowship hall the same thing as true fellowship Let the verses above tell you. I truly hope this helps many in understanding what true fellowship is and why true fellowship is so important. True fellowship is not a self-centered act it is about others mostly. The Kingdom of God grows when true fellowship is practiced. It is strengthened in you and it grows in others (edified built up). I have tried to connect the dots and get a complete picture of true fellowship my friends. I hope this helps. All of us have to get ourselves off of our minds try not to be so self centered and selfish. Food for thought Can we assemble and fellowship in more than one way Based on what I ve encountered many would answer that it can only be done one way or the way that they do it. Another question Is everyone physically capable to do as others may be able to do What about disabled folks or folks that live isolated from other believers Just some points to contemplate on. In any case keep studying your Bibles completely cover to cover. My thoughts if possible assemble with a fellow believer or believers and study discuss and contemplate God s word build each other up so each one can pass it on to others who need to hear the truth (God s word). In other words fellowship is not about just being together but it is about doing and growing together so one can more effectively edify others. Don t be guilty of just playing church. Playing ChurchThere is a game that people play In which religion is involved. It is the most dangerous game of all For the loss of one s soul is involved. It is a game of pretension And is popular as can be. We are the actor and play a role And a Christian we pretend to be. The game is called Playing Church And Sunday is game day. We suit up in our very best And act like we re in the narrow way. Our message is a happy one For holiness we think is boring. The Holy Spirit we think is working But it s an evil one that s imploring. We re energized and excited By the preachers stimulus package. We re made to feel like winners While our life s a sinful wreckage. We play this game inside the church Where we re still religious but lost. We think the Gospel is a joke For which Christ Jesus paid the cost. We think the Holy Spirit is the One Stirring up our rebellious heart But an evil spirit impersonates Him Working his deceitful satanic art. We can only become a Christian By faith in Christ and confessing our sin. Playing the game will never save us And will never bring peace within. Playing Church is a satanic game And Satan s the one that creates it. He makes religion fun and frivolous And everyone s a loser who plays it.James H. Cagle
