Train and evaluate employees regarding proper handling of student behavior issues. Coordinate and instruct students and drivers in school bus safety evacuation programs. Evaluate existing programs to improve and develop new training programs as needed for staff. Communicate with parents and drivers monitors regarding student discipline issues.Essential Job Functions 1. Contribute to alcohol and drug testing programs and compliance. 2.Conduct training testing and licensing as dictated by the Colorado Department of Revenue CDL compliance office DOT and FMCSA for all department employees requiring a CDL. Maintain CDL testing documentation and submit monthly reports to the CDL compliance office. Provide small vehicle training to District employees as required by CDE. 3. Supervise assistant trainers and support departmental communication by contributing to regular communications and other training tools. Maintain and contribute to training calendars syllabuses pacing guides employee tracking tools and other workflow exhibits. 4. Assist in instructing students on proper behavior when riding buses and at bus stops. Counsel drivers on student management issues and partner with other district personnel to ensure safe student transportation 5. Work flexible hours and contribute to regular route and trip driving and assist in office and dispatch duties. 6. Coordinate communicate instruct and evaluate employees on bus evacuation drills. Coordinate and instruct students in school bus safety evacuation. 7. Assist with interviewing and hiring of department personnel including maintaining hiring and no longer employed spreadsheets. Create and maintain department-wide metrics and key performance indicators. 8. Schedule organize and plan engaging InService(s) and other department-wide training events. 9. Perform other duties as assigned.TECHNICAL SKILLS KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES Basic accounting and math skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. English language skills. Strong interpersonal relations skills. Personal computer and keyboarding skills. Strong software knowledge like Excel Google Sheets PowerPoint and VersaTrans Routing and Planning. Operating knowledge of and experience with typical office equipment such as telephones copiers fax machines E-mail etc. Operating knowledge of and ability to drive student transportation vehicles.
