Why repent

Why repent This is a KJV Bible study guide. Acts 17 30 (KJV) And the times of this ignorance God winked at but now commandeth all men every where to repent [Now He commands all men everywhere to repent. Why See the next verses for your answer].Acts 17 31 Because he hath appointed a day in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained whereof he hath given assurance unto all men in that he hath raised him from the dead. [All men face judgment by Jesus Christ one day that is why. See Ecclesiastes 12 14 Isaiah 3 11 29 15 Colossians 3 25 and Hebrews 4 13 also nothing we do is secret or hidden from God. Nothing He commands us to repent in other verses as well. One of those verses is Revelation 3 19]. Repentance must be done in truth see the next verse. Psalm 145 18 The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him to all that call upon him in truth. Matthew 12 31 Wherefore I say unto you All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. (If one truly repents). We all face this appointment someday 2 Corinthians 5 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ that every one may receive the things done in his body according to that he hath done whether it be good or bad. [Again we all face judgment. Have you followed God or Satan We all have to make this choice. Is this the purpose of this life in the flesh I believe it is. Is there something more important than this one choice we all face Bob Dylan wrote and sung a song about this same topic (Gotta serve somebody). One of the lines was Well it may be the devil or it may be the Lord But you re gonna have to serve somebody. How true he was] Hebrews 9 27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die but after this the judgment [We all face exactly the same things death of the flesh then judgment. No one will miss either of these two appointments in the future. Only makes sense to prepare yourself properly for these appointments]. Do we repent only once as some teach No. See the following two verses Romans 3 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past through the forbearance of God [For the remission of sins that are past not future sin. Check out the definition of this word past in a Strong s Exhaustive Concordance. Word G4266 is Greek word proginomai pronounced prog-in -om-ahee from 4253 and 1096 to be already i.e. have previousy transpired --be past]. 2 Peter 1 9 But he that lacketh these things is blind and cannot see afar off and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. [Purged from old sins not future sins. Very clear to me]. Why must you repent after you have sinned Read the following verses for your answer Isaiah 43 25 I even I am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake and will not remember thy sins. [God doesn t remember your sins for His own sake after you truly repent see Psalm 145 18 in a KJV Bible. He doesn t want to hear about them again and again. He forgives and then forgets a really good example for us humans (forgive and forget). None of us will be judged for our sins that we have truly repented for they are gone blotted out]. Acts 3 19 Repent ye therefore and be converted that your sins may be blotted out when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. [Do you want any of your sins to still be on the books when you stand before Christ I certainly hope not. Therefore truly repent and get back on track]. Hebrews 8 12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. Hebrews 10 17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. [If one truly repents God blots out those sins. He doesn t remember them anymore which means He doesn t want to hear about them anymore. He blotted them out]. Many people Christians included are afraid of judgment day. Why If you do as you are commanded to do in Acts 17 30 you have nothing to be afraid of. In Hebrews 8 12 and 10 17 above and other verses when a person truly repents there sins are remembered no more. You do not have to answer for sins that have been blotted out (Isaiah 43 25 above). To truly repent means to rearrange your entire way of thinking feeling and being in order to forsake that which is wrong to the best of your ability. Remember you cannot con God He knows everything Judah and his brothers showed remorse but more importantly they showed transformation. Teshuva is returning to what is right and pure. Repentance must be done in truth see Psalm 145 18. Study the Bible cover to cover and study everyday if possible. If you don t do that now start today.
