NEW HIGHER SALARY 35 788 - 62 5628 The ChallengeWe are looking for a skilled Automotive Mechanic Equipment Repair Technician to join our Durham County Equipment team. In this role you will Perform semi-skilled and skilled small engine automotive heavy equipment and mechanic work. Service diagnose repair and rebuild mechanical systems for gasoline diesel-powered automotive and heavy equipment. Perform mechanic work at various levels. Work assignments vary in complexity depending on the type of mechanical system. Prepare paperwork for employment and equipment repair. What You BringExperience performing preventive maintenance on at least one of the following light medium heavy duty trucks and or heavy equipment. A complete set of mechanic tools. Commercial Driver s License. (If you don t have it you can gain it through our on-the-job training. It s required within 360 days of hire.) Experience diagnosing basic electrical systems and performing proper wiring repairs. Experience in basic hydraulic system repairs including component and hose replacements. Knowledge of diagnostic software tools and equipment for trucks and heavy equipment. Experience in the diagnosis and repairs of manual transmission components. Ability to repair and maintain automotive and heavy equipment and diagnose problems using diagnostic equipment. Ability to understand written and verbal instructions. Strength to safely lift and move heavy objects parts and materials necessary to repair and maintain equipment. Ability to safely operate equipment for testing purposes. Ability to work in an indoor and outdoor environment. Demonstrated commitment to a safe working environment by leading by example. Ability to read and interpret Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals read schematics diagrams and sketches. NotesA pre-employment drug screening is required. We will conduct a background check for your past 2 years about controlled substances and alcohol testing. Safety toe footwear is required within 30 days of hire. We may require current certification by the EPA as a Type I II III or Universal Technician.
