The macbook screen hinge does not hold the screen open and it will fold the screen all the way back flat. If you open the screen too far it will shut off so the screen needs to stay mostly closed in order for the screen backlite to stay on. It would work fine hooked up to an external monitor. The macbook is used and has ware on the body. The macbook has been os restored and updated. Other than the screen issues it works well.
