SUMMARY Our client is currently seeking a General Manager for a Military Base to supervise the unit operations in generating maximum sales and controllable profits while maintaining company objectives and quality standards. This position is responsible for the development of the onsite management team and support staff. The General Manager is charged with the inspection and evaluation of all operational costs labor costs safety sanitation and compliance with Company policies and governmental regulations. He She is expected to suggest methods of improvement in operations and ensure proper implementation of new products procedures techniques and policies. Responsible for all phases of planning budgeting reporting and analysis relating to the account. As a representative of our Dining Services client the selected individual must function in accordance with our corporate Mission Vision and Core Values statements. RESPONSIBILITIES FINANCIALCollaborate with the Operations Director to prepare a period and yearly budget. Achieve maximum sales and profits consistent with acceptable operating standards. Analyze period operating statements and conduct statement reviews with the Operations Director. Each review must be timely thorough and include plans for corrective action if needed. Provide counsel to other onsite management and support staff with regards to cost control. Provide Client with a monthly reporting summarizing the financial data. Responsible for accurate and timely completion of all recording and reporting activities. Demonstrates thorough understanding of all Company established purchasing and financial policies & procedures. Ensure other onsite management and support staff understanding and consistent adherence to all Company purchasing and financial policies & procedures. MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENTAssists with running the day-to-day operation of dining services in military bases. Consult with Human Resources when filling any Exempt Level position and when hiring a unit Administrator. Responsible for hiring training coaching supervising evaluating and managing performance of direct reports. Develop unit managers utilizing the gap analysis tool provided by Human Resources to determine individual needs creating development plans where needed. Demonstrate respect for individual employees and appreciation for their efforts and contributions. Ensure staff is up-to-date with compliance and other required trainings. Demonstrate thorough understanding of all Company established human resources policies & procedures. Ensure onsite management and staff understanding and consistent adherence to all Company established human resources policies & procedures. Demonstrate thorough understanding of State and Federal employment rules and regulations. Ensure onsite management and staff understanding and consistent adherence to all State and Federal rules and regulations. OPERATING CONTROLEvaluate total operational performance and ensure client satisfaction. Communicate any operating problems to the Operations Director on a timely basis. Understands and properly reviews monthly Key Performance Indicators. Develop a complete operational business review on a quarterly basis review this with the Operations Director and present to the client. Perform the Quality Assurance Audit at each location on a monthly basis. The inspection should include food quality service sanitation safety professional image and administration. Discuss all areas that need improvement with onsite management and support staff and institute a plan for formal corrective action. Planning and analysis of all merchandising and marketing programs. Assure that all areas of the dining services operations are in compliance with client sanitation and safety programs as well as state and local health regulations. Demonstrates thorough understanding of all Company established operating policies & procedures. Ensure onsite management and staff understanding and consistent adherence to all Company established operating policies & procedures. COMMUNICATIONHold direct report and team meetings on a regular basis. Meets with all associates on a regular basis to discuss matters of interest to the unit as well as corporate news and initiatives. Be knowledgeable and ensure utilization and thorough understanding of all corporate communications i.e. the Weekly Digest. Closely follow the Meeting Preparation Process including completing the Meeting Preparation Template providing the agenda to the client in advance of the meeting sending the meeting recap back to the client and Operations Director within 24 hours. Written communication of all management and administrative staff is compliant with the corporate Electronic Communication policy and all litigation holds on correspondence are closely adhered to. Ensure positive public relations are attained account retention is assured. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelor s degree in Business or Hospitality Management preferred. An advanced degree in Management Hospitality or related field is highly desirable. In lieu of a Bachelor s degree a minimum of 10 years successful managerial experience in a hospitality setting preferably with military or government facility. Proven superior customer relations skills are required. Must be detail-oriented a problem solver with critical thinking skills. Experience in facilitating formal training. MS Office and general computer system proficiency in a variety of electronic platforms. Experience developing managing and adhering to budgets. ServSafe Certification required. Allergen Certification required. For State Licensed accounts Certified Dietary Manager credential required Physical Demands Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Position requires extensive travel via car train airplane. The employee frequently is required to stand walk use hands to finger handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit climb or balance and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
