NEW HIGHER SALARY 47 959 - 71 032 The ChallengeWe are hiring an experienced accountant to join our Contract Management Payables team. In this role you will Oversee and run our Contract Management Payables daily operations. Supervise a team of 3 in our Contracts Payables Section. Solve problems and answer questions from NCDOT staff and vendors. Ensure all NCDOT contracts management construction contracts grant and utility relocation invoices for the entire state are approved and paid timely and efficiently. Ensure that all final approval of Contract Management Contracts Purchase Orders Grant and Utility Relocation Agreements at the Fiscal level are processed. Evaluate our current contract accounting system and recommend program improvements. Use our SAP database to analyze and recognize problem areas create better controls manage the workflow generate reports and change develop enhancements to applications in the SAP system. Manage the setup and maintenance of the NCDOT vendor file. Reconcile and maintain IRS related reports make judgements on vendor setup and maintenance and oversee controls on bank account data. What You BringAccounting experience with principles and practices including Accounts Payable processes. Leadership managing and reviewing work of others making corrections and training staff with policies and procedures. Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Excel. Experience creating reports in an accounting software program. Troubleshooting skills addressing accounting issues and problems. Education & ExperienceBachelors degree in accounting or a Bachelors degree in business administration finance public administration or related discipline and 18 semester hours of accounting and 2 years of accounting auditing experience in the preparation of interpretive analytical accounting financial statements and reports or An equivalent combination of training and experience.
