Psalm 22 importance

Written 1 000 years prior Yes Psalm 22 was written by King David 1 000 years in advance of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It describes the crucifixion right down to the very words and actions of those present at His crucifixion. Can a mere human predict so precisely No only God can. David wrote what God inspired him to write. Read Psalm 22 then read the following eye witness accounts of Jesus crucifixion Matthew 27 39-46 Mark 15 22-34 Luke 23 33-39 John 19 23-30. After reading these read Isaiah chapter 53. The accuracy is absolutely amazing. Psalm 22 1 describes the exact words which Jesus quoted while He was nailed to the cross. How many times in His short life did He call His Father God He called Him Father most of the time. Jesus was quoting verse 1 of Psalm 22 and still teaching while hanging on the cross He was quoting a prophecy written 1 000 years prior. Plus Jesus was not saying that God had forsaken Him He tells us why He came into this world see John 12 27 and Hebrews 2 14. Let me ask you a question How could God forsake Him when He was God in the flesh (Jesus Christ) Please read Isaiah 7 14 Matthew 1 23 and John 1 14 among other verses. I know many people have asked can the Bible be trusted can I believe what is written Just read for yourself. Again how can a man predict so accurately what will happen 1 000 years in the future A man can t be anywhere near as perfect as God s inspired scripture is. [Where will you find a more accurate historical account than right there in scripture You can t]. Why did Christ die on the cross To defeat death Hebrews 2 14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood he also himself likewise took part of the same that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death that is the devil Death is a stark and sometimes dark reminder that we live in a fallen world. Most of us have faced the reality of death through the loss of a loved one or dear friend. Eventually we will face it ourselves. Death is inevitable we were born to die. We have made attempts to forestall death. Medical science advancements have resulted in cures for many diseases that in earlier human history led to the death of thousands. We are grateful for these advances but in the long run all attempts to avert death will fail. That is except one. Through Christ s resurrection all enemies of the Lord have been defeated thoroughly including the greatest enemy of all death. This is good news By His own death Jesus paid the price to redeem us from death and the grave By His resurrection He conquered death and gave us the victory. Yes physical death still will come to us all (unless the Lord returns first). However death is not the end for believers in Christ but rather a transition into the presence of the Lord where we will live in heaven forever and ever. Some pertinent verses follow 1 Corinthians 15 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 1 Corinthians 15 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption and this mortal shall have put on immortality then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written Death is swallowed up in victory.1 Corinthians 15 55 O death where is thy sting O grave where is thy victory 1 Corinthians 15 56 The sting of death is sin and the strength of sin is the law.1 Corinthians 15 57 But thanks be to God which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.1 Corinthians 15 58 Therefore my beloved brethren be ye stedfast unmoveable always abounding in the work of the Lord forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord 2 Corinthians 5 6 Therefore we are always confident knowing that whilst we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord 2 Corinthians 5 7 (For we walk by faith not by sight )2 Corinthians 5 8 We are confident I say and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.2 Corinthians 5 9 Wherefore we labour that whether present or absent we may be accepted of him. Hebrews 9 27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die but after this the judgment. (We all face this. Each person is destined to live here on earth once then die once and then be judged). [2 Samuel 14 14 Ecclesiastes 3 2]2 Timothy 3 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine for reproof for correction for instruction in righteousness [How much scripture is given by inspiration of God [All]. And how much may be used for doctrine reproof correction and instruction [All]. Not just some but [All]. Would there be any excuse acceptable for not believing all scripture None that would be acceptable to God He inspired it all.] Study on your own gain in wisdom understanding faith trust knowledge and truth [See James 1 5]. Supplement what you may learn in church. Form your own opinions based on truths you will only find in God s word. Some will attempt to mislead you concerning what Jesus said while on the cross don t let that happen to you. It is an absolute shame that so many so-called Preachers try to tell you that God forsook Jesus Christ on the cross. Again learn the truth from God s word for yourself by actually studying it what a concept. If this offends someone guess what you need to be offended for not complying with the following verse and actually learning the truth from Gods word 2 Timothy 2 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth.
