Did He forsake Him

Did God actually forsake Jesus on the cross Many would answer yes and then try to explain their answer. I personally don t see this in the same way. I do not believe God had forsaken Jesus. I ll try to share my thoughts with you on this. [All verses come from a KJV Bible]. 1. What words did Jesus use while on the cross My God my God why hast thou forsaken me I would like to ask a question. How many times in scripture did Jesus refer to His Father as God I don t know for sure but He usually referred to Him (God) as Father. I believe that to be one of the first clues. 2. How can God forsake Himself Jesus was God in the flesh see Isaiah 7 14 Matthew 1 23 John 1 1-14. 3. Psalm 22 1 My God my God why hast thou forsaken me why art thou so far from helping me and from the words of my roaring (Psalm 22 gives an exact account of the crucifixion please read it entirely and then read the accounts in the Gospels to include Isaiah 53 in O.T. I believe Jesus was pointing us towards this through His words on the cross He was still teaching us while dying) 4. Deuteronomy 31 6 Be strong and of a good courage fear not nor be afraid of them for the LORD thy God he it is that doth go with thee he will not fail thee nor forsake thee. 5. Hebrews 13 5 Let your conversation be without covetousness and be content with such things as ye have for he hath said I will never leave thee nor forsake thee. Based on the above two verses plus many others I just can t understand why some believe Jesus was forsaken by God I just can t understand that it seems to be a contradiction to me. Again how can God forsake Himself Plus if someone says God forsook Himself he is calling God a liar. Wrong thing to do my friend God cannot lie or go back on His word see the following verses Numbers 23 19 God is not a man that he should lie neither the son of man that he should repent hath he said and shall he not do it or hath he spoken and shall he not make it good 1 Kings 8 56 Blessed be the LORD that hath given rest unto his people Israel according to all that he promised there hath not failed one word of all his good promise which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant. Psalm 119 160 Thy word is true from the beginning and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. Titus 1 2 In hope of eternal life which God that cannot lie promised before the world began Hebrews 6 18 That by two immutable things in which it was impossible for God to lie we might have a strong consolation who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us John 8 44 Ye are of your father the devil and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning and abode not in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie he speaketh of his own for he is a liar and the father of it.
