Clinical Research Nurse

The Section of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team of clinicians and scientists devoted to researching newborn health in a clinical setting. The candidate will screen mothers and their infants in the delivery room and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) to determine whether they are eligible for any ongoing studies then approach the eligible mothers with information about the studies. The clinical research nurse will obtain consent enroll patients collect and enter data using existing databases and serve as a contact person for those patients. Previous knowledge of Good Clinical Practice and CITI training are preferred.Apply at s jobs.ou.edu for job 222723Representative duties Teamwork. Collaborate with world-class neonatologists and nurses to assist with patient examinations and data collection for neonatology research. Under direct supervision perform professional nursing duties such as physician assistance sample collection information gathering etc. Organization. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills to follow patients from screening through completion of their participation in research studies. Ensure accurate application of study protocols and completeness in data collection. Communication. Interact with family educating them on what to expect during the study and scheduling follow-up appointments. Keep the research team informed on the status of participant enrollment using clinical judgment to ensure that patient safety is maintained and report any deviations from study protocol to principal investigators. Clinical data collection. Collect samples from patients record routine physical measurements (blood pressure heart and respiratory rates etc.). As Needed. Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position. Requirements Bachelor s degree in Nursing with 12 months of nursing experience or Associate s degree in Nursing with 24 months of nursing experience for a total of 36 months of experience Current State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse Certification in good standing Skills and Preferences Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills Highly organized and meticulous to ensure accuracy of data collection and records Dedication to patient privacy concerns and safety Excellent communication skills to keep the research team informed on study progress Mastery of Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook). Experience with REDCap a plus.
