NEW HIGHER PAY 50 357 - 88 125 The ChallengeWe are hiring an experienced accountant to join our Financial Management team. In this role you will Reconcile record and establish all accounting entries in the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)and NCDOT s systems for the GARVEE (Grants Anticipation Revenue Vehicle) bond program and the Build NC bond program. Prepare information to requisition Trustees for weekly cost reimbursements and ensure timely debt service payments are made. Monitor our GARVEE and overdraft dashboards and ensure procedures compliance. Help monitor Federal Project closings. Handle special projects and reporting required by FHWA NCDOT Secretary COO and Legislative requests. What You BringExperience interpreting and applying complex Federal State fiscal regulations. Working experience analyzing financial data to review process and correct accounting entries and adjustments in our accounting system and procedures. Teamwork skills to establish effective working relationships with business program personnel and supervise the work of junior accounting staff. Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Considerable knowledge of government accounting methods procedures and financial practices. Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Work Excel) and a good understanding of information systems. Skills to coordinate with IT staff and end users to solve problems impeding delaying the functionality of our SAP R 3 system. Education & ExperienceBachelors degree in accounting or a Bachelors degree in business administration finance public administration or related discipline and 18 semester hours of accounting and 4 years of accounting auditing experience in the preparation of interpretive analytical accounting financial statements and reports or An equivalent combination of training and experience.
