Lead Maintenance Mechanic

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The Lead Maintenance Mechanic must have exhibit an outstanding knowledge of building trades cleaning procedures and maintenance. This role is expected to have strong organizational and time management skills. The Lead will display natural leadership and possess exceptional communication skills with a great eye for detail.To ensure success the Lead Maintenance Mechanic should display strong problem solving and decision-making skills with a solid understanding of building maintenance repairs refurbishments cleaning and managing staff. This candidate will be skilled at building and equipment maintenance procedures and have extensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Inspect sites regularly to identify problems and necessary maintenance Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work as per forecasted workloads Lead mentor and train Maintenance staff Coordinate daily weekly internal cleaning of equipment and maintenance areas Oversee all repairs and ensure that work is completed on time Maintain all inventory and equipment and ensure proper storage Comply with all health and safety regulations and practices on site Conduct preventative maintenance work Conduct follow-ups on all maintenance and repair work end of shift email correspondence with maintenance management team Conduct safety inspections as scheduled Establish strategies to meet workload demands on time Additional tasks as required within job scope and abilities JOB REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent GED technical school a plus Three to five years of related field experience and complete knowledge of all duties listed above Mechanical mindset with ability to think outside the box Strong verbal communication skills Ability to diagnose problems and find solutions Ability to work in a fast paced cold temperature environment Experience working on processing machinery in the foodservice industry a plus Ability to read wiring diagrams and parts breakdowns a plus Understand and abide by all safety regulations as well as policies and procedure Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance Ability to work overtime as warranted by business needs Ability to work effectively in the absence of close supervision Ability to operate a variety of vehicles and equipment in a safe and effective manner Ability to work in a fast paced cold temperature environment Understand and abide by all safety regulations as well as policies and procedure set forth by Thomas Foods International USA Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
