Joshua Singh

Joshua Singh s All I Ever Learnt is a project that takes on the tone of the times in which it was conceived. The record reflects a silent space he reached in this time defined by a sense of nothingness. It demonstrates the process of reflection in order to be present in the moment without thinking about the future the impermanence of simple accomplishments and of how they can appear larger than they are. The music video directed by Tanvi Gandhi captures these ideas through beautifully minimalistic film. In her words the less said the better. What she aimed to capture was the feeling of isolation and of how our past memories and nostalgia only exist in the context of the present. The record evokes traces of electronic influences largely shaped by a minimalist theme. The sound consists of layered voices woven into each other complemented by waves of cold synth guitar lines and interestingly enough the first bass ever used in Bollywood (played by Charanjit Singh) - all strung together by the sound of silence. The footage serves as a reflection of these elements with a mesmerizingly desolate landscape solitary silhouettes... and bubbles.
