The ChallengeWe are looking for an Assistant Traffic Engineer to join our Castle Hayne Traffic Services team. In this role you will Assist with reviewing traffic impact analysis and project plans. Perform general safety and mobility traffic studies. Handle necessary coordination inspection for projects under design and construction that the Traffic unit is overseeing Attend meetings related to these items. Perform complex and detailed work such as traffic studies and plan reviews. What You BringComputer skills in Microsoft Office and CADD drafting. Knowledge of engineering standards policies and procedures related to transportation. Experience writing memos reports and emails that clearly convey technical information and engineering concepts. Experience planning developing scheduling tracking and completing projects independently or with limited supervision. Experience applying engineering concept to solve complex problems. Ability to gain knowledgeable of all policies and procedures to assure NCDOT specifications are being met. Ability to accurately perform math calculations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reports letter writing and daily contact with the public government officials contractors and other stakeholders. NotesSafety toe footwear is required within 30 days of employment. State driver s license is preferred. We may require registration as a professional engineer by the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
