The ChallengeWe are looking for an Engineering Technician to join our Materials and Tests Unit and help provide engineering and geomatics analysis in the development of transportation facilities and property acquisition applying professional engineering and surveying practices consistent with all laws and regulations. In this role you willAssist in the creation of Written Deed Descriptions for use by our Right-of-Way Unit in their Negotiations and Appraisals. Produce mapping products such as Condemnation Sketch Maps Condemnation Exhibit Maps and MAP Act exhibits. Generate data for our online GIS system - Right-of-Way Management System. What You BringTechnical skills in CADD and survey procedures. Knowledge of NCDOT organization including our Legal Section and associated roles responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to maintain detailed records. Experience performing analysis of findings and recommending corrective actions when needed. Strong teamwork skills completing team and individual assignments with limited supervision. Knowledge and understanding of concepts practices and procedures used in the acquisition of NCDOT Right-of-Way with limited supervision. Education & ExperienceAssociate s degree in Civil Engineering Technology Survey Technology or a related field and 2 years relevant technician-level experience or An equivalent combination of training and experience.
