You will work on average 40 hours weekly. Willing to train.Go with driver to collect and transport various waste streams to local Transfer stations Compost Facilities or landfill sites in an efficient and appropriate manner .Adhere to the collection and delivery schedule while following all relevant policies and procedures of the Company the MTO Ministry of Environment as well as the by-laws of the Municipality in which you are working. Shift Timing - 1st Shift (Day) Responsibilities Include Riding on the back of garbage or recycling collection truck and collecting solid waste on a designated route Directing driver when pulling out in traffic and backing up and directing incoming vehicles to dumping area at solid waste disposal facilities Knowledge of standardized work routines used for manual tasks and operation of collection vehicles in solid waste operations Checking operating and safety conditions of vehicles performing minor servicing and reporting needed repairs or servicing Assisting driver with various tasks during waste runs Qualifications Deep knowledge of work routines and procedures in collecting solid waste materials for disposal reuse and recycling Able to lift up to 50 pounds and able to carry reach bend push pull and climb Flexibility to work in all weather conditions Garbage bags or cans can weigh up to 50 lbs Need to be lifted from the ground up approximately 2 feet into the hopper You will be make multiple stops going from house to house collecting waste bins bags and putting into back of truck
