Nu Vue Exteriors Ltd. is looking for full time Carpenters at 7 1121 12th Street Kamloops BC V2B 8A7.10 positions available. Main duties and responsibilities are as follows but not limited to Read and interpret blueprints drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring tools Measure cut shape assemble and join materials made of wood wood substitutes lightweight steel and other materials Install prefabricated siding deck and railing products Fit and install trim items such as doors windows stairs moulding and hardware Prepare underlying surface area prior to installation ensuring that they are leveled and compatible Maintain a safe and clean work environment Supervise apprentices and other construction workers May prepare cost estimates for clients Qualifications Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials and good understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction Familiarity with power tools and hand tools Good understanding of basic math with the ability to read measuring tape and do simple addition subtractions or fractions Perform physically demanding tasks including bending stooping and carry objects up to 45lbs Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to demonstrate good organization Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times Time management and scheduling skills Strong attention to detail Must be a team player Hours of work are 40 hours per week at 29 hour (overtime pay after 40 hours). Secondary School diploma is required. Post-secondary education in construction building management is considered an asset. Minimum work experience is 3 years hands-on experience.
