Job Summary Operates one or more pieces of equipment including but not limited to balers conveyors wheel loaders skid steer yard tractor and forklift to transport and contain materials to facilitate loading and unloading within semi-trailers or shipping containers.II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. Coordinates flow of material by communicating with the baler operator loader operator and plant lead. Starts baler up on time read monitor which displays functions of baler and reacts quickly to machine prompts and alarms and ensures proper operation. Insures material is being fed properly onto conveyor. Monitors and documents downtime. Insures safety around working areas reports any unsafe acts or conditions to Plant Lead or Operations Supervisor. Verifies quality of material before it is baled or shipped communicates any concerns to Plant Lead Coordinates with Plant Lead and office staff insure material needed for upcoming schedule is ready Accurately completes daily equipment inspections before during and after use of each piece of equipment documenting any changes or defects. Performs routine maintenance on equipment such as lubricating fueling and cleaning before and after each use. Communicates with office staff when supply inventory is needed including bale and banding wire. Operates loader forklift bobcat or other equipment to move material to designated area. Keeps surrounding work areas clean. Stacks material in proper rows by raising and lowering lifting device. Loads or unloads materials into or out of trailers and shipping containers. Moves material from baler to designated storage areas or into trailers for transport. Dumps loose materials out of containers bins and gaylords using forklift rotator. Reads and or composes loading unloading sheets and bills of ladings to verify material grades counts and weights are correct Ensures paperwork is turned in daily to the office for billing. Accurately inspects weighs and grades material on plant scales and records all relevant information on proper paperwork which includes source weight material grades and number of containers. Ensures shipping vessels are safe by performing inspections before entering and loading unloading Complies with all safety policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.III. Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory duties.IV. Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.A. Education and Experience Education None required. Experience Six (6) months of previous work experience.B. Certificates Licenses Registrations or Other Requirements Forklift CertifiedC.
