The PeopleReady located at Edmonton Alberta T5L 4S9 is currently hiring a Flagger Job Description Flaggers will be responsible for safely directing traffic through construction sites and work zones. In this role general duties will include but are not limited to holding signs and standing outside for long hours in varying weather conditions lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally and communicating with the crew through handheld radios.Up to 12 hour shiftsOvertime requiredMust be willing to work weekends when requiredUpon an offer all candidates must be able to pass a SureHire Drug and Alcohol and Fit for Work testSuccessful candidate must be able to meet all safety requirements and polices work under pressure work cooperatively and independently with a team in a fast-paced complex environment Shift Timings - 1st Shift (Day) 2nd Shift (Evening) 3rd Shift (Night) & Weekends Responsibilities Include Working with construction team to establish safe movement of traffic around construction zone in accordance with safety regulations Flagging motorists to warn them of obstacles or repair work ahead Taking ownership of keeping work zone and passing cars safe May need to place signs barricades traffic cones and other warning devices- duties will vary according to job assignment Directing traffic flow using Department of Transportation regulations Responding to emergencies as directed and performing tasks in the interest of public safety and property protection during emergencies Qualifications Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions Communication skills required - flaggers remain in constant contact with the crew Able to remain in a stationary position for long periods at a time Possess a valid flagger certification - PeopleReady will help provide this training.
