The PeopleReady located at Oshawa Ontario L1H 4J5 is currently hiring a Flagger Job Description Our clients periodically require help controlling traffic when working on or close to roads. This could be a side street major intersection or even a plaza. Shift Timing - 1st Shift (Day) Responsibilities Include Protect workers in the construction zone by directing and controlling traffic using approved signage. Give traffic control directions and signals clearly and precisely so that motorists and pedestrians are safety directed around the site. Help set up and takedown work zones. Respond to questions from members of the public regarding traffic direction alternate routes and driving directions in a polite manner. Keep the flow of traffic moving with as few delays as possible. Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task. Ensure safety of fellow employees and general public. Performing other related duties as required Inhouse training provided. Qualifications Previous experience on a construction site will be considered an asset Ability to cope with regular hazards in a construction environment inclement weather dust noise etc. Reliable transportation Must be able to meet the physical demands of the work as manual labour is required to complete these tasks such as lift up to 20kg 40lbs stand crouch and kneel for long periods of time Communicate effectively and exercise tact and diplomacy while interacting with members of the public Punctual and reliable Effective team player Proof of vaccination may be required by some clients
