Sam Houston TexasPls. apply online at www.1prospect.com careersFLSA Classification Exempt - SalariedEmployment Class Full Time RegularPosition Summary 1Prospect Technologies LLC is seeking a qualified Training Support Specialist Medical Support who will be a part of a training team and support subject matter experts and instructors with a variety of tasks related to the conduct of medical training programs.Essential Duties & Responsibilities Work with the instructors in the classroom and or outdoors including during inclement weather Set up and tear down skill stations and trauma lanes (mannequin reset etc.) Maintenance of training aids and equipment Maintain and restock resupply medical supplies (i.e. class 8 inventory) Maintain cleanliness of training area and support facilities Assist with preparation and set up for class labs to include preparation of animal models (i.e. restraining and shaving) Set up and tear down classroom and aid station Sentry duty (monitoring site access) Assist with restraint sedation tracheal intubation IV catheter placement and monitoring (vital signs) of anesthetized animal models Perform routine equipment maintenance laboratory setup and tear down clean up and sanitation Adhere to safety standards and requirements at all times Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications General knowledge of medical terminology laboratories equipment and processes preferred. Be capable of learning and utilizing current and emerging military and commercial technology Ability to operate computers telephones fax machines video conferencing and other office equipment Read write and speak English fluently Ability to interface professionally with a wide variety of government customers Ability to pass a Federal government background check and maintain a Defense National Agency Check with written inquiries (NACI) with favorable results Post offer physical required Physical Demands Ability to lift and carry equipment and or materials weighing up to 50 pounds individually Ability to lift and carry equipment and or materials weighing approximately 150 220 pounds in a team-lift. At times the training support staff must carry this equipment up or down stairs and on uneven terrain in the normal functions of his her job. Ability to stand for long periods of time while in the field or classroom Ability to work around and with farm animals Ability to work in the classroom and or outdoors including in inclement weather Working Conditions Working Environment Physical Demands Works under general supervision of and reports to the team lead Travel within the local vicinity is required Services may be provided at government facilities to include a classroom office outdoors field hospital setting and in laboratory setting. Outdoor activity continues during inclement weather unless government customer cancels activity due to severe weather. Hours of operation are generally M-F between 6 00 AM and 5 00 PM Shift work is required advanced notice will be provided Shifts may be eight (8) hours or longer starting as early as 5 30 AM Wear personal protective equipment as needed and during inclement weather During classroom instruction staff is required to wear black collared shirts pants with no rips and non-slip closed-toed safety shoes During lab instruction staff is required to wear black scrubs (top & bottom) and non-slip closed-toed safety shoes designated for lab use only Personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses and headlamps and stethoscopes are made available for required use.
