The ChallengeWe are looking for a skilled mechanic to join our Winston-Salem Equipment Shop team. In this role you will Service and repair mechanical systems of gas diesel powered automotive and heavy equipment. Move parts and materials to repair and maintain equipment. Perform preventive maintenance and keep accurate records. Prepare parts orders from parts manual. Read schematics diagrams and sketches. Perform skilled mechanic work on systems including Preventive Maintenance Tires and Tubes Wheel & Rims Cranking Systems Lighting Systems Cooling Systems Fuel Systems Hydraulic Systems What You BringTroubleshooting and repair skills on one or more of the following light medium heavy duty or farm equipment brake components. Experience performing preventive maintenance on one or more of the following light medium heavy duty trucks and heavy equipment. Diagnostics experience on basic electrical systems and proper repair of wiring. Basic hydraulic system repair experience including component replacement and hoses. Knowledge of diagnostic software tools and equipment for trucks and heavy equipment. Ability to repair and maintain automotive and heavy equipment. Ability to prepare paperwork for equipment repair. Ability to understand written and verbal instructions. Able to read schematics diagrams and sketches. Strength to move relatively-heavy objects. Ability to safely operate equipment for testing purposes. Ability to work indoor and outdoor environment. NotesWork assignments vary in complexity depending on the type of mechanical system. You must possess a valid commercial driver s license - Class A with N endorsement within 60 days of hire. A pre-employment drug test is required. We will do a background check with previous employers for the past 2 years about controlled substances and alcohol. We may require current certification by the EPA as a Type I II III or Universal Technician. Safety Shoes are required.
