The PeopleReady located at Chesapeake Virginia 23320 is currently hiring a Forklift Operator Job Description PeopleReady ofSuffolk has an immediate opening forForklift Operators in Chesapeake VA.Forklift Operators are responsible for transporting shipments and or equipment in warehouse environments. Handling shipping orders customer orders or requisitions for items to be moved or prepared for distribution. Note - Pay Rate for this Job is 14 Hour - 16 Hour Shift Timing - 1st Shift (Day) Responsibilities Include Forklift Operator must work Monday thru Friday. Overtime evening or weekend work may be required during heavy production periods. Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervisor clean equipment. Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards. Operate industrial truck equipped to move materials 60 000 pound around on storage yard factory construction site or similar location. Operate individual lift trucks of various sizes and weights in the loading hauling and unloading of various equipment materials and supplies. Successfully complete a classroom safety program. Operators must operate their forklift in a safe manner by being aware of hazards around them. Seat belts if provided must be worn at all times. Daily inspection records shall be available at the location the forklift is being stored. Qualifications Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally. Ability to observe proper safety precautions. Ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees and supervisors.
