The PeopleReady located at Kitchener Ontario N2H 5E2 is currently hiring a Drywaller Taper Painter Job Description PeopleReady Kitchener is looking to hire drywallers painters who can do the activities including painting spackling drywall patching. Responsible for various tasks throughout the job site including but not limited to preparing various interior and exterior surfaces such as wood concrete metal glass plaster brick and cement for painting. Operate and maintain appropriate equipment and tools for painting removing paint patching holes sanding or roughing slick surfaces. Use and maintain brushes rollers to apply a variety of surface coverings such as paint varnish shellac enamel lacquer or other protective or decorative finishes. Mix paints to match blend coordinate or contrast colors. Apply primer undercoats and finish coats as needed. Follow established safety rules and guidelines and maintain a safe environment. For drywall tasks there are two basic steps to installing drywall First drywall workers fasten the drywall against the inside framework of the building. Second they finish and smooth the joints. Some drywall workers specialize in cutting and installing the panels while others specialize in finishing the joints. However many workers do both types of work. Note - Pay Rate for this Job is 17 Hour Shift Timing - All Available Responsibilities Include Under general supervision apply coats of paint varnish stain enamel or lacquer to decorate and protect exterior surfaces trimmings and fixtures of buildings and structures. Cutting drywall to the right size using utility knives Filling joints holes and cracks with compound using a trowel and broad knife Trimming and smoothing rough edges so boards join evenly without visual defect Qualifications Possess basic painting tools such as brushes and rollers Committed to safety at all times Ability to lift 50 pounds during shift Ability to stand sit kneel and otherwise maneuver throughout shift Preferably has reliable personal transportation (but is not required) Must be able to provide proof of Covid vaccination and immunizations.
