PeopleReady is hiring Marine Deckhand for several positions working on barges on the Ohio & Green River .Marine Deckhand operate and maintain equipment on the deck of a vessel and assist with docking and other operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to start your career and in under 5 years you could become a tow boat pilot Pay Rate is 150 per day and Paid Bi-Weekly Responsibilities Stand watch and look for other boats and dangerous obstructions in the water as well as navigational aids like buoys or markers. Operate and maintain onboard equipment Maintain deck surfaces Resurfacing and painting Handle lines and assist with berthing and unberthing Secure cargo on deck and towing Help unload and load cargo Follow the Captain s orders and help senior deck officers Clean the inside crew quarters of the ship Ensure best environmental practices while working Qualifications No experience necessary Lift 50lbs Use tools of the trade Qualify for a TWIC Card Drug screening required
